Fortune Cookie

Monday, January 30, 2012
As you can see by the shirt in the picture below, Cash definitely has a favorite food choice. But since he has been eating better we have tried to introduce him to new foods. The other night, we tried a little Chinese takeout shrimp lo mein. He did not really like it. However, he did enjoy the fortune cookie part of the meal and his fortune was definitely the best of the bunch. We have much to learn from our silent grasshopper.

Photos from the past couple of weeks

Wednesday, January 18, 2012
We've been hibernating in the Inman household the past few weeks - cold weather has brought on some colds and I've been in and out with work travel (and preparing for more). Here are a few pictures of what's been going on:

Winston-Salem day trips

Tuesday, January 3, 2012
Since we stayed with my parents for about a week, we thought it would be good to get Cash out of the house and explore Winston-Salem. We took Cash on his first ever tour of the Wake Forest campus. He enjoyed running around the Quad and up and down the ramps near Benson. We showed him our friend Ben's tree and the dorm where Daddy's frat used to be. I told him that if it wasn't for this place, he wouldn't exist and he promptly let out a squeal and ran around in a circle. I think he found it to be a happy place.

Later in the week we went with my Dad to Old Salem to walk around for awhile. This was the point in the week when Cash was getting stir crazy and I thought that going to Old Salem would allow him to run around. I was wrong. Since cars can drive through (and streets aren't blocked off like I thought) we had to keep Cash in the stroller most of the time and he wasn't happy about it. However we did let him out to stretch his legs in a gift shop and found a Confederate hat to put on him for an impromptu photo session. Because such as you do in the South...

Christmas 2011

A little late with this post but the Inmans had a spectacular Christmas and New Year's this year. Since Christmas 2010 was overtaken by packing and leaving our beloved NYC on the 26th, it was nice to actually be able to decorate and enjoy the holiday season with family and friends this year. In the NYC apartment, our decorations consisted of a single, sad rosemary bush, but this year I was able to start acquiring some seasonal decorations that we can save and bring out year to year. I was pretty happy with the way the house turned out.

We spent Christmas in Winston-Salem with my parents. I don't have too many pictures of the actual day since it was all a blur. Cash really isn't at the age where he understands Santa, Christmas, presents, etc. He did seem happy about the new toys and he found the tree and the ornaments on it fascinating for about two seconds. We gave him a tunnel to crawl through, a Muno doll and an Elmo book. His Grammy and Papa got him some of the Duplo Legos. All were big hits. That night we had family over for Christmas dinner and Cash actually ate a fair amount of it so it was a great day.

However our biggest Christmas miracle was the fact that Cash slept until 6am on Christmas morning and then slept until about 6:30am most of the days in the week after! He's been waking up around 5am for the past month and a half so sleeping until 6 was the best Christmas gift ever.
