Cash turned one last Sunday. It's hard to believe that my tiny little newborn has been around one whole year and is growing so much each day. We had a great party for him with all four of Cash's grandparents in attendance along with some new and old friends here in Wilmington. We are so lucky to have so many people love our little man and want to share his birthday with him. We think he had a lot of fun and as you can see, Cash is his mother's son and loves a good Hershey's chocolate cake.
I took him to his one year well-baby visit on Thursday. He's still a peanut - Cash hasn't quite broken 20lbs yet (he's at 19lbs, 8oz.) which leaves him in the 8th percentile for weight. He's 28.5 inches which is the 12th percentile for height. However, the doctor said that he was perfectly proportionate, looks like a good eater and is perfectly healthy (except for a double ear infection which was diagnosed at the time but really, that's just par for the course at this point). He's hitting all of his milestones like cruising, pointing, starting to make more sounds and a few words, and understanding certain words that are said to him. Besides the ear infection diagnosis and the four shots that were involved, it was a pretty good doctor's visit.
This year has brought a lot of change to the life Ross and I have built together but the biggest and best is Cash. We're so lucky to be able to share each and every day with him. He's a special little guy with lots of personality and lots of love in his heart. We can't wait to see what this next year will bring.
